FINAL  DIGIPACK

I produced six panels digi pack for my artist. I reffered most of the images to the music video as there are black and white in most of the clips because i want to show my artist expressions and her body langauge as i used many close up shots and mid shots to show how my artist feels.

What i have included in my album cover/digipack:

1- Photos of the artist

2- Artist's name

3- Title of the album

4- Track list

5- Artist's website

6- Copyright/barcode

7- A quote from the artist

There are lots of similar things on album covers no matter what the genre of music. There has to be a basic few rules to follow to get all the correct information on the cover and still being able to make it interesting and appealing.

·          A photograph of the artist

·         The artist’s name.

·         A song/album title.

·         Song names and who’s featuring

·         A website address for the artist

In my digipack I used all of list above, I wanted to create a real industry product and also keep up a consistent brand image which fits in with my music video and other products throughout.

The main conventions in my digipack wasn’t from anyone’s idea, I basically matched the clips in the music video to my digipack. I like it how there’s a powerful close up shot of the artist with no expression on her face makes her look like a strong female artist.

DIGIPACK - how it uses conventions?

DIGIPACK - How it developes conventions

I think that my digipack develops conventions because usually female independent artist/ singer, song writers’ digipacks are more basic because they don't usually have as much money to put behind them as a mainstream artist would be. However, when I was creating my digipack I wanted to keep it simple like most other singer/song writer digipacks.

DIGIPACK – How it challenges conventions

I didn't want to challenge the conventions to much because I wanted my digipack to apply to everyone. However, I didn't play up to that with the image that lots of female artists do, instead of doing this I kept my artists image natural and feminine. It did challenge the fact that I added a personalized message in my digipack from the artist itself to make the audience feel more connected with her. This isn't something that I have seen before therefore I believe that this challenges the common conventions.
