  What is a music video?

-A music video or song video is a short film integrating a song and imagery, produced for promotoional or artistic purposes. Morden music video are primarily made and used as a marketing devices intended to promote the sale of music recordings. Most music videos tell a story or deliver a message, to emrace the audience and grab their attention, making them more interesting in the song or album persading them to buy it. Music video are a good way for directors and filmmakers to express thier creativity and passion. Music video use a wide range of techniques and styles in ordeer to promote their video such as animation and time-tapse and more.

 

What is the purpose of a music video?

- The purpose of a music video is to promote artists annd brands and to tell the story and to let you remember it. also it gives the listners a better undestanding of the song if the vidoe is telling us a story. The main purpose is to entertain people by showing off their talents to the whole world. to sell CD's and DVD's to the viewers. Creating a memerable visual for the song, incrases its chances to sell, shops that do this are HMV, Amazons, and other retailers.It also gives record companies a chance to see newcoming artists such as YouTube, so that they discover the big thing.

  In my opinion, the purpose of a music video is a message to the audience to gain a visual understanding of a song, also to entertain their fan base for them to get ideas of todays trend for example what type of clothing people wear these days and also makeups. However the main purpose of music videos is to promote artists and to promote brands.

 

When was the first music video made?

- Queen's 'Bohemain Rhapsody' (1975) is generally regarded as the 'music video'. at that time, Queen's were about to embark of a long UK tour, but wanted the song to be played on television shows, in particular Top Of The Pops.

 

 

What is a 'Talkie'?

-MTV was first aired on August 1, 1981, the world was introduced to Music Television.  The first music video shown on MTV was The Buggles' "Video Killed the Radio Star". This was followed by the video for Pat Benatar's "You Better Run".

- Michael Jachson's 'Thriller' is in American13 minutes music videa made in november 1982 the song was released from his sixth studio album of the same name in December 1982. It was MTV's first world premiere video it was voted as the most infuential pop music ideo of all time. 'Thriller' has since been listed by the Guinness Book of Record as the 'most successful music video' and is the first music video added to the National Film Registry. 'Thriller' proved to have a thoughtful effect on popular culture as Michael Jackson was an international superstar and many in the black culture community herald himf or breaking down recial barriers in the music industry. Black people were viewed in the media when 'Thriller' changed the music business.

 

When was Youtube first start and how it changed the way we consume music videos?

- Youtube fisrt started in Fenruary 2005, it chnaged repidly the way we consume music video because it allows anyone to uplaod almost anything on Youtube for free whether it is politicians, rducationa, terrorists or pop stars. however, music video nowdays are really important because is a next level to anartists music career, another wat to get their music across to the world.
